E-Learning: Introduction to Legionella Awareness
Our e-learning presentation is designed to introduce delegates to legionella control. The course features interactive sessions, enabling the user to see how temperature affects the organism, how to identify risk systems within a typical building, and to assess their understanding at the end of each subject.
The e-learning ‘Introduction to Legionella’ compliments our two existing one day courses ‘Legionella Control for Everyone’ and ‘Legionella Control for Managers’, which expand further on the duties for members of staff that are more heavily involved in legionella risk management. The e-learning module is a basic introduction to legionella; it should not be considered as a substitute for Legionella Control for Everyone and Legionella Control for Managers.
What are some of the features and how could you benefit?
| Accessible anytime: | The Introduction to Legionella e-learning course is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Delegates can access the training when it is convenient to them, at home or at work. The assessment is completed online and does not require the use of software or hardware, meaning any computer with internet access can be used to complete the course. |
| Significant savings: | The e-learning provision reduces costs significantly as there are no travel expenses incurred and delegates do not have to spend time away from work. The assessment takes approximately one hour to complete, and can be paused and resumed to fit around a busy working schedule if necessary. |
| Personalised training: | Delegates can learn at their own pace, with the presentation appealing to different learning styles. Visual graphics and interactive sessions enhance the learning experience. |
| Improved interactivity: | The presentation includes references to online resources to further enhance delegates understanding of legionella control. Delegates are therefore drawn into the subject matter and can explore additional material at their own leisure and for their own purposes. Each section of the course is followed by 5 assessment questions to assess delegates’ understanding. The system instructs delegates which questions they got wrong, if any, and provides them with the correct answers. Delegates can move back to previous slides to clarify points if necessary. On successful completion of the course a certificate is produced which can be printed or stored electronically. |
Course content:
1. What is Legionnaires' disease?
2. How the bacteria grows and spreads
3. Where legionella is commonly found
4. Effects on the human body and who is at risk
5. How to properly control the risk
